Yahobahne’s Mission

CombatPicWoodsonHighHello and welcome. I’m Yahobahne pronounced “Ya-ho-buh-knee.” It means gracious, mighty warrior. On October 2001, while driving back from a women’s conference a few miles away from Charlotte, NC, I was listening to a worship CD by then worship leader, Gary Oliver. This particular song was entitled,

“Welcome Into This Place”

began to play.  Something happened on the inside of me that can not be explained.  God was ushering in something new (Isa. 43:19).  It was then that the Holy Spirit spoke into my heart ‘Yabobahne.’  Thereafter, I began to seek the Lord for an answer. “What does that word mean?,” I would inquire of Him. But at the times I heard it, I received no response. During the ride home I would enjoy the remainder of the CD, but ‘Welcome Into This Place’ would supercede the other songs. It was “the song” that resonated the loudest and was the most confirmed in my spirit. Father God was doing a mighty work within me. Three times I heard ‘Yahobahne’ and each time, I would inquire of the Lord. When I arrived home, the Holy Spirit had me to research that word.

I didn’t know where to begin. From where and from what resources would I find out the meaning of Yahobahne? Well, in my home library of various types of books, I selected the following 1) The Nelson’s Bible Dictionary 2) The Hebrew/Greek Bible and 3) The Webster’s Dictionary. Here’s what I found. . .

Yah – JeHovah, God is Gracious; Trust in God

Hobah [Hoe buh] – A town where Abrahm pursued the defeated army of Chedorlamer (Gen. 14:15)

ne – According to Webster’s dictionary “ne” means originally or formally called.

In other words, my birth name in the eyes of the Lord God was considered former only because of the new thing He was doing in my life. Yahobahne, a Kingdom of Heaven name became the new and recognized name through the blood of Jesus. Read also Acts 20:22-24. This scripture is relevant to the ‘Yahobahne’ mission. To add, this name would eventually describe all of my God appointed assignments on this earthly’s journey. In essence, the Lord’s message to me was this. . .

“The nations will see your righteousness. World leaders will be blinded by your glory. And you will be given a new name by the LORD’s own mouth.” Isaiah 62:2

To God be the Glory, in Jesus’ Mighty name, Amen.

  1. Your name is awesome! Names all have meanings in the Bible. Perry Stone says that the meaning of the first ten (male) names in the Bible sum up the entire Bible. Sounds like your name defines who you are as well as your mission. God bless and keep you. Love in Christ.
