Affection Generates Kingdom Promises

All of the “quick fixes” that believers have depended upon Father God for has, in this season, dried up. Situations, calamities, even heartaches, hardships or senseless demises will either induce believers to seek the Kingdom of God, relational intimacy, and His righteousness or it will compel them to altogether forsake Christianity.  It’s just that deep!

For those who do not apostatize the faith, the gospel of Jesus Christ, you must make grave efforts to seek the Kingdom of God and His principles.  In other words, set your affection, your state of mind, and thoughts on things above.  Doing so, you’ll find righteousness, passion, works of grace, works of love, joy, and peace.

The born again believer must, with the help of Holy Spirit, train his or her thoughts and mind to focus on the quality and the characteristics of Jesus Christ.  Daily your minds must be renewed in knowledge after the image of Father God who created us.  Setting your mind on things above also means meditating on the power, authority and principles of Christ and His Kingdom. Those who accepted Christ as Lord must spiritually ingest daily, the bread of life.  Getting into His presence and reading the word of God, including meditating is a vital component to a believer’s strength, peace, and identity.

We are Kingdom people, a royal priesthood, citizens of a better territory or realm.  It is in the realm of the spirit world that we are to aspire to live, move, worship, in spirit and in truth, as well as have our being’s focused; not of this earth.

As a believer, we have already been made complete in Christ.  When we gave our life to Christ, He came to live within us.  Therefore, the fullness of His Deity dwells within us.  We were born into one family; we became members of Christ’s body; and this is the one thing we have got to practice — separation from all the world.  Rightly so, setting our affection, i.e., our emotions, feelings, attitudes, devotions, fondness, inclinations or dispositions on things above must be kept heavenward centered.

A believer may say, “well, is a Kingdom mindset practical in today’s society or is it attainable in the midst of lustful pleasures or worldly temptations?”  Yes, it is attainable and practical because the fullness of Christ, the Kingdom of God is within you. A believer has the supernatural power to overcome.

First however, he or she must have a heart’s desire to seek Kingdom things. Secondly, that born again believer must choose to obey, and be ready to apply Kingdom principles—inwardly—in his or her life. If for an example, you desire to become a football or another sport’s fan, you’ll position yourself to study or inquire about certain terminology and plays, right?  Eventually, you’ll notice that what you’ve initially desired, and had an interest in has now become a part of you. You may even join a sport’s pool.  So then, every time a sport’s game comes on, as a result of your choice, you will apply yourself or give full attention to or allegiance to that game.

Regarding the Kingdom of God, we must have a desire and make the choice to seek those things that are above. Therein lie our treasures. To add, we discover our love affair with Christ, intimacy. On the other hand, refrain from through spiritual warfare, sensual appetites, events or news that will incite the “old nature” to resurrect. Our old nature is dead and buried.  Every day, we must aspire to keep that old nature dead while rising to the full nature of Jesus the Christ. Will this be a struggle?  Most times it will. However, when we think about the sacrifice that Jesus made and the severe punishment that He took upon His body on our behalf, then the struggles that we face are but light compared to our Lord’s obedience.

Get in position, repent! For the Kingdom of God is at hand. No more quick fixes says the Spirit of the Lord! Choose you this day to wholeheartedly seek heavenly things; setting your mind on things above opposed to world views, religious rules, self-gratifications, impurities or sensational news. ~Selah

Scriptures:
I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:14

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Luke 12:34

For you ought to put off the old man (according to your way of living before) who is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts. Ephesians 4:22

If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. Colossians 3:1-3
